Obituary of Alvin Edwards

Alvin Edwards, age 90, of the Holly Creek Community away Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at his residence. He was born on June 28, 1918 in the Honey Grove Community, the son of James and Iler Taylor Edwards. Alvin enjoyed operating his farming and ranching operation. He raised a garden every year and particularly was proud of his canned pickles. Alvin was an avid fisherman and hunter and also enjoyed whittling and cutting wood. He loved his dogs especially “Sonny”. Alvin was a member of the First Baptist Church in Valliant and had lived most of his life in McCurtain County. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons-in-law, Danny Daniels and Jim Chauvin; brothers and sisters, Lora Compton, Ludie Nix, Herman Edwards, Dwight Edwards, Venoia Edwards, Flo Belle Morzolf, and Hollis Edwards. Alvin is survived by his wife, Juanita Edwards of the Holly Creek Community; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Gail and Tony Batchelor of the Holly Creek Community, Barbara and Josh Randle of Valliant, Betty Daniels of Valliant, Janice Chauvin of Idabel, and Kaye Edwards of Idabel; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
