Obituary of Robby Hankins

Robby Hankins, age 65, of Idabel passed away Monday, March 9, 2009 IN Idabel. He was born on August 26, 1943 in Tom, Oklahoma, the son of Robert and Louella Hilton Hankins. Robby was the Street Commissioner for the City of Idabel for the last 18 years. He was more than willing to help anyone he could, and he was constantly trying to please everyone while doing his job. Before becoming Street Commissioner he managed Reynolds Wilson Lumber and later the Holiday Inn. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. Some of Robby’s favorite times were during deer season at deer camp at the Buckhorn Lodge. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. Robby was very well liked and the same qualities that made him a successful Street Commissioner made him an even better friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Marcus Robinson; and brothers, Pete Hankins, James Hankins, and Frankie Hankins. Robby is survived by his wife, Monah Hankins of Idabel; daughters, Robbie Janell Hankins and Lisa Robinson both of Idabel; his granddaughter, Marisa Angel Robinson of Idabel; step-children, Greg Oliver, Brad and Kim Oliver all of Idabel, and Kayla and Rick Battistelli of Denver, Colorado; brothers, Bobby M. Hankins of Haworth, Billy Hankins of the Redland Community, and Johnny Hankins of Haworth; 6 step-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
