Obituary of Billy Ray Coffman

Billy Ray Coffman, 70, of Idabel, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at his residence. He was born August 27, 1938 in Garvin, the son of George W. and Geneva Tuttle Coffman. Billy Ray was a 1957 graduate of Idabel Gray High School. He was affiliated with the Faith Christian Center in Broken Bow and was a lifetime resident of the Idabel area. The word “Can’t” was not in Billy Ray’s vocabulary and he tried a little bit of everything in his lifetime. He was an auctioneer, owned and operated a bulldozer land clearing operation, and moved and sold mobile homes for many years. Billy Ray also enjoyed trading horses and cattle. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and mother of his children, Ann Coffman; a brother, George “Jug” Coffman; and a sister, Jackie Coffman. Billy Ray is survived by his wife, Wanda Coffman of Idabel; his sons, Billy Ray Coffman Jr. and Stewart Coffman both of Idabel; daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and Bill Gragg of Broken Bow and Paula and Tony Tunnell of Moon Community; grandchildren, Jason Coffman, Paula Asbell, Breanna Coffman, Jared Coffman, Justi Gragg, Aaron Raymond, Chance Tunnell, and Jordan Coffman; step-children, Ricky Shields, Vickie Franks, Connie Taylor, Jenny Campbell, Michael Shields, and Kevin Clark; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sonny and Peggy Coffman of Atlanta, Georgia, Don Coffman of the Redland Community, and Joe and Jan Coffman of Idabel; sister-in-law, Judy Coffman of Idabel; former sister-in-law, Dianna Coffman of Idabel; aunt and uncle, Theda and Shelby Shockley of Wichita, Kansas; 5 great-grandchildren; special caregivers, Joy Forshee, Karen Ebert, Renee Stuart, and Wanda Brakebill; several nieces, nephews, numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
