Obituary of Viola Williams

Viola G. Williams, 86, of Idabel, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at her residence. She was born July 14, 1922 in Wichita Falls, Texas, the daughter of Doc and Nancy Harris Griffin. Viola was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She had a very special pet dog “Cinnamon” whom she loved very much. Viola was a member of the Central Baptist Church and was a lifetime resident of Idabel. Viola was very much dedicated to her family and was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Earl Woodrum and Guy Williams; a daughter, Freda Woodrum; a great-grandchild, Clay Walker; and 4 brothers. Viola is survived by her daughters and a son-in-law, JoAnn and Jerry Shinn of Idabel, and Patsy Bennett of Broken Arrow; a son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Jan Williams of Idabel; a brother, Joe Griffin of Durant; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
