Obituary of Ronnie Lane

Ronnie “Bubby” Holmes Lane, age 48, of Idabel, passed away Monday, January 26, 2009 at Idabel. He was born April 2, 1960 in DeQueen, Arkansas. Bubby worked as a carpenter on construction projects all over the country. He enjoyed horseback riding, and was a bull rider when he was younger. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish. He was affiliated with the point of Day Celebration Church and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Milam; nephews, John David Milam and Beau Milam; and his maternal grandparents, W.P. “Pop” and Verna Taylor. Bubby is survived by his mother, Helen Edmondson of Rover, Arkansas; father, Arnold Lane of Cumby, Texas; sons, Ronnie Lane Jr. of Idabel, Shawn Brakebill of Haworth, and Aharon Cheek of Sherman, Texas; daughters, Kristain Lane of Pottsboro, Texas and Sara Spencer of Tunjunga, California; brothers, Leonard Holmes of Mexico, Loy Holmes of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Leslie Holmes of Odessa, Texas; sisters, Donna Smith of Ft. Towson and Lisa McDowell of Texarkana, Arkansas; the mother of his children, Pam Lane of Pottsboro, Texas; five grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
