Obituary of Barbara Jean Coffey

Barbara Jean Coffey, 61, of Garvin, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008 at her residence. She was born July 3, 1947 in El Centro, California, the daughter of Walter and Mozelle James Hicks. She married Donald Gene Coffey on August 7, 1970 in Idabel. Barbara was a 1965 graduate of Valliant High School where she was an All State basketball player for Coach Burl Plunkett. She was a homemaker, a wonderful cook and enjoyed shopping. Barbara loved her special pet dog “Mandy” whom she enjoyed watching TV with. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and loved spending time with her family. Barbara loved going to church and was a member of the non-denominational “The Church” which her son, Brent, pastors. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter-in-law, Sarah Gail Coffey. Barbara is survived by her husband, Donald Gene Coffey of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Vaughn and Tonya Horton of Ft. Towson, Charlie John Coffey, and Brent and Debbie Coffey, all of Garvin; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Jeremy Jordan of Tulsa; grandchildren, Tommy Payne, Tony Maynard, Stormie and Corey Dawson, Chris and Kimberly Fowler, Katelyn Coffey, Brookelyn Coffey, Rustin Coffey, and Lakelyn Coffey; great-grandchildren, Jilyn Dawson, Kolyn Dawson, Keeli Fowler, and Ayden Fowler; sister and brother-in-law, Saundra and Charles Womack of Idabel; brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Cindy Hicks of Valliant; several nieces, nephews, many other relatives, and many, many friends.
