Obituary of Helen Strawn

Helen Strawn, 85 of Idabel, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Paris, TX. She was born September 24, 1923 at Garvin, the daughter of Charlie and Daisy Adams Coffman. On December 27, 1949 she married Glen Strawn at DeQueen, AR. The couple renewed their vows in a ceremony at Idabel on their 25th wedding anniversary. Helen worked at the Highlander Laundromat for 19 years and was a homemaker. She enjoyed her work and loved being around people and visiting with them. A favorite hobby of hers was bingo. She also enjoyed camping. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Ike Williams and Billy Huff; brothers, Jesse Coffman, Charles Knight; sister, Corine Womack. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Glen of the home; sons, Larry Strawn of Arizona and George Strawn of Paris, TX; daughters, Wynell Wheeler of Idabel, Bonnie Ellis, Sue Bailey, JoAnn Butler all of Oregon, Kay Dennis of Alaska; cousin, Betty Jenkins; nephew, Jesse Scott; a very special friend, Marquita Stonebarger; 126 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.
