Obituary of Brandon Farley

Brandon Farley, age 30, of Tom was killed in combat in the Kunar Provence of Afghanistan on September 18, 2008 while serving his country in the U.S. Army. He was born on April 16, 1978 in Sulphur Springs, Texas the son of Wade and Sherry Farley. Brandon was serving in the 1st Battalion 26th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade combat team based at Ft. Hood, Texas. He had also served tours in the U.S. Marines and the National Guard. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Herman Lee Farley and Hilda Farley Gilpin; maternal grandparents, Frank and Jimmie Fay Parchman. Brandon is survived by his father, Wade H. Farley of Tom; mother, Sherry L. Farley of Dallas; former step-mother, Toni L. Wray of Idabel; brother and sister-in-law, Corey and Brandy Farley of Claremore, OK; sisters, Ashlyn Farley, and Lauren Farley both of Dallas; nephews, Taylor Farley and Noah Miles; a niece, Madyson Farley; step-grandfather, Orley Gilpin of Idabel; several aunts, uncles, cousins; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Plane side rites honoring Brandon’s arrival home will be held at the McCurtain County Regional Airport on Friday, September 26, 2008 at approximately 5:30 p.m. A procession led by the patriot riders will follow from the Airport around the South By-Pass turning North on Central to the funeral home.
