Obituary of Guinn Hudson

Guinn William Hudson, 80, of Idabel, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, September 4, 2008 at his residence. He was born September 25, 1927 at Wellington, TX, the son of Bayliss and Clara Underwood Hudson. He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Tom, OK and had been a Master Mason since 1956. Guinn and his family moved to Dumas, TX in 1941. At the age of 17 he began working for Brown and Root Construction Co. where he helped build the Cactus Fertilizer Plant. He worked for the Emergency Export Co. to make ammonium nitrate used in military explosives. After 37 years he retired from the companies. He spent 2 years in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers and their wives, Floyd and Lula Mae Roberts Hudson, Alvis and Jessie Harrison Hudson, Bob and Wilma Hudson, Aubrey and Reba Hudson; 2 sisters and their husbands, Lara Lee and Revis Parker, Dorthy and Sam David Soward; son, Timothy Earl Hudson. Guinn is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mozell Hollingsworth-Hudson; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip and Susan Hudson of Dumas, TX, Dwight and Gloria Hudson, Joe and Jackie Hudson all of Idabel, Mary Hudson of the Goodwater Community; daughter, Sharon Kay Knie of Fritch, TX; grandchildren, Beth Burns, Amy Land, Sandy Jones, Randy Rodgers, Jason Knie, Miranda Hudson, Diedre Hudson, special grandson, Joseph Hudson, Jr. of Great Bend, KS; step-granddaughters, Melissa Potroff and Ashley Clarke-Hudson; 2 brothers-in-law, Curly Hollingsworth and wife, Mary of Amarillo, TX and Don Hollingsworth and wife, Sue of Millerton; 2 sisters-in-law, Lou Jennings of Haworth and Fay Moser of Great Bend, KS; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
