Obituary of Virginia Gilley

Virginia Gilley, 74, of Idabel passed away on Monday, September 1, 2008 at Texarkana. She was born on October 30, 1933 in Sylvia, Kansas, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Elam Brown. Virginia worked for Dr. B.J. Waldrop for over 35 years, and had worked the last 3 years as volunteer coordinator for Little Dixie. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Virginia had lived in Idabel since 1964, coming from Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, A.D. Gilley; son Mark Gilley; and her daughter, Vicki McDaniel. Virginia is survived by her son, Dennis Gilley; daughters and son-in-law, Linda Gilley of Idabel, and Karen and Tommy Tapley of Haworth; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Alberta Brown of Durango, Colorado; sister, Betty Volker of Austin, Texas; son-in-law, Hubert McDaniel of Denison, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
