Obituary of Ruth Billingsley

Ruth Billingsley, 95, of Idabel passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Idabel. She was born on July 17, 1913 in Center Point, Arkansas, the daughter of Richard and Myrtle Dossey Allen. Ruth moved to McCurtain County at the age of six. She married Timothy Billingsley on January 19, 1931. Ruth was a homemaker and worked many years as a sales clerk at Warren’s and then Piggly Wiggly. She was a member of the By-Pass Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tim Billingsley; a son, Jacky Billingsley; and her grandson, Mitchell David Billingsley. Ruth is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Becky Billingsley, and Jerry Billingsley all of Idabel; brother and sister-in-law, Coy and Patsy Allen of Arlington, Texas; her granddaughter, Angela Shupert of Idabel; grandsons, Jimmy Billingsley of Dallas, Ricky Billingsley, Mark Billingsley, and Lloyd Billingsley all of Idabel; an aunt, Lilly Haltom of Idabel; 4 great-grandsons; 6 great-granddaughters; 2 great-great-grandsons; a nephew; a great-nephew; numerous cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
