Obituary of Hilda Gilpin

Hilda Wade Gilpin, 75, of Idabel, peacefully went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2008. She was born November 30, 1932 at Tom, Oklahoma, the daughter of Mose and Zona Gill Wade. Hilda was a loving mother, devoted Christian and caring community member. Hilda loved life. She thoroughly enjoyed talking politics and the need to remember the importance of Israel to the Christian religion. She fulfilled her lifelong dream of visiting Israel in 2007. She was a prolific writer who frequently submitted editorials to the McCurtain Gazette. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Idabel and had lived in this area all of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Farley, and brothers, Britt Wade and Blake Wade. She is survived by her husband, Orley Gilpin of Idabel; sons and daughter-in law, Wade Farley of Tom, Oklahoma, Randy and Patricia Farley of Los Angeles, California, and Will Gilpin of Grand Prairie, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and David Webb of Springfield, Missouri; sister, Elizabeth (Libby) Bates of Tom, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
