Obituary of Clarence Bray

Clarence “Peck” Bray, 62, of the Hollycreek Community, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at his residence. He was born October 5, 1945 in the Rock Hill Community. He married Mavis Allen in Maude, Texas on July 31, 1972. Peck loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed gardening and this was the first year in many that he was unable to make a garden. Peck was affiliated with the Baptist Faith and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Daphner Anderson Bray; a son, Robert Allen Bray; a great-grandchild, Hunter Lee Bray; brothers, Richard Bray and J.W. Bray; and his sisters, Mary Lou Cleckler, and Billie June Rodgers. Peck is survived by his wife, Mavis Bray of the Hollycreek Community; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Susie Bray of the Hollycreek community, and James and Kathie Bray of Athens, Arkansas; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Shawn Baker of the Oak Hill Community; brother, Arnold Bray of the Hollycreek Community; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Joe Ward of Poteau; grandchildren, Bradley James Bray, David Kyle Bray, Britney Bray, Khristen Baker, Shawn Paul Baker Jr., Craig Chaney, Cara Chaney, and Megan Allen; a great-grandchild, Destanie Bray; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
