Obituary of Coby Parnell

Coby James Parnell, 18, of Smithville, passed away Thursday, June19, 2008 at Smithville. He was born June 4, 1990 in Talihina, the son of Michael and Sandra Cooke Parnell. Coby would have been a Senior at Smithville High School this fall. He loved and lived basketball and was a member of the Smithville Braves basketball team. Coby loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and being on the lake. He loved spending time with friends and family. Coby was affiliated with the Baptist Faith and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jammie Lee Parnell; and his maternal grandfather, James Cooke. Coby is survived by his parents, Michael and Sandra Parnell of Smithville; a brother, Rickey Grider of New Boston; a sister, Tommy Cooke of the home; paternal grandparents, Harvey and Joyce Parnell of Smithville; maternal grandparents, Larry and Janet Walker of New Boston and Ginger Cooke of Mena; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends.
