Obituary of Reida Sivard

Reida Sivard, 41 of Idabel, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Idabel. She was born January 31, 1967 at Sherman, TX the daughter of JoAnn Strawn and Johnny Cochran. Reida married Ken Sivard on June 8, 1985 at the Forest Hill Baptist Church in the Forest Grove Community. Reida was a teacher’s aide at Denison Elementary School. She was a member of the Forest Hill Baptist Church and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. She became an avid supporter of 4-H and FFA when her children became involved in these programs. She put her heart into encouraging not only her children but the other participants as well. Reida was very active and took great pride in her involvement in the Idabel Ag Boosters and put countless hours in helping the kids with their animals at the livestock shows. Reida loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed camping and had a great love for music. Reida was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Reed Strawn, Dan and Hattie Cochran; uncle, Reed Strawn, Jr.; father-in-law, Larry Sivard; step-grandmother, Elsie Scott; grandmother-in-law, Helen Tooman; grandfather-in-law, Earnest Tipton. Reida leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Ken Sivard of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Jr. and Kayla Sivard of Broken Bow, Tyler Reed Sivard of the home; a daughter, Jessica LeighAnn Sivard of the home; mother and step-father, JoAnn and Perry Scott of Idabel; father and step-mother, Johnny and Frankie Cochran of Hollycreek Community; sister and brother-in-law, Johnna and James Smith of the Hollycreek Community; grandmothers, Mary Jo Strawn and Mildred Tipton both of Idabel; nephew, Trevor Smith of the Hollycreek Community; special friends, Michael and Carla Beth Tatum; several other relatives and many, many friends.
