Obituary of Mildred Tucker

Mildred Ruth Tucker was born at DeQueen, Arkansas on Feb. 7, 1924 to Everett W. and Annie L. McAnally. She went to meet the Lord on April 9, 2008. She was a member of the 1942 graduating class of Broken Bow High School. Her family moved to Texarkana shortly after where she was employed at the Lone Star Defense Plant print shop. On September 2, 1944 she married her long-time sweetheart, Ernest R. "Jack" Tucker who was in the army at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas. After WWII, they established a home at Broken Bow until April 1954 when they moved to Idabel. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church, Idabel. Mildred loved bird watching, and playing cards and dominoes. She was a thoughtful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as friend to many. She was employed by the Election Board Secretary's office for several years and also volunteered to operate the Youth Inc. swimming pool for most of the 1960s. Later in life, she became a volunteer Pink Lady at McCurtain Memorial Hospital. Left to cherish memories of her are husband Jack; son Randy and daughter-in-law Margy Tucker of Flower Mound, TX; son Ray and daughter-in-law Janet Tucker of Las Colinas, TX; sister Louise Tucker of Roseburg, OR; brother Kenneth McAnally of Broken Bow; three grandchildren, Treena Breese Elkins and husband Matt of Denton, TX, Angela Henisey and husband Rocky of Rockwall, TX, and Chris Tucker of Lewisville, TX; and four great grandchildren, Spencer and Payton Henisey and Paige and Deagan Elkins.
