Obituary of Sammie Grant

Sammie Grant, 53, of the Iron Stob Community passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at his residence. He was born March 17, 1955 in Okmulgee. Sammie worked for his father as a dry wall contractor, working on many local buildings and residences. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid arrowhead collector. Sammie was affiliated with the Baptist Faith and had lived most of his life in McCurtain County. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wilton and Mary Fuller; his paternal grandmother, Mable Burnett; and his uncles, Delma Fuller, Dow Grant, and Dick Burnett. Sammie is survived by his parents, Sam and June Grant of the Iron Stob Community; his son, Jacob Hill of Idabel; sister, Laurie Frazier of the Cisco Community; a nephew, Chad Frazier of Tulsa; a niece, Meghan Frazier of the Cisco Community; his aunts, Margaret Johnson of Ellenwood, Kansas and Jeanie Jamison of the Forest Grove Community; an uncle, John Burnett of Harrah, Oklahoma; many other relatives and a host of friends.
