Obituary of James Davis

Jimmy Davis, age 74, of Idabel passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at his residence. He was born August 12, 1933 at Mason, Oklahoma, the son of Preston and Dolly Thomas Davis. Jimmy was a retired farmer, construction, and owner and operator of the Iron Stob Grocery Store. He was an avid gardener, and enjoyed giving his vegetables to his friends and neighbors. Jimmy fed the wild birds faithfully, and also loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of the Shepherd Chapel, and was a devoted Christian having been baptized in September of 2005. Jimmy devoted several hours each day to bible study. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Clovis Davis, Bill Davis, and Tom Davis; and a sister, Tijuana Leemaster. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Nadine “Blue Bell” Davis of Idabel; daughters, Sherry C. Burris, Phyllis Garrett, and Kimberly Davis all of Idabel; a grandson and his wife, Lance and Rachel Bonner of Mesquite, Texas; great-grandchildren, Emma Faith and Lillie Grace; brothers, Mitchell Davis of Tulsa, and Prescott Davis of Okmulgee; sisters, Shirley Gross, Doris Nickles, Sharon Dunn, and Clois Cresson all of Mounds, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
