Obituary of Odell McBrayer

Odell McBrayer, age 77, of Idabel went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 18, 2008. He was born on August 16, 1930 in Lakeview, Texas, the son of Odell Luke and Ola Gregory McBrayer. Odell was a retired attorney, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Bar Association, Texas Bar Association, and the American Legion. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Idabel and was an active member of the Gideons International McCurtain Camp of which he served as Chaplain. Odell had been a resident of Idabel for six years moving from Ft. Worth, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Carolyn Davis. Odell is survived by his wife, Mary McBrayer of Idabel; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Mary Lynn McBrayer of Ft. Worth, and Tim and Debbie McBrayer of Idabel; daughters and sons-in-law, Stacy and Dr. Carlos Torrellas M.D. of Jacksonville, Florida, Barbara and Matthew Hendricks and Lorie and Tom Gibbons all of Burleson, Texas; brothers, Gene McBrayer of White Settlement, Texas, Bud McBrayer of Granbury, Texas, Jerry McBrayer of Edmond, and David McBrayer of Los Alamos, New Mexico; a sister, Barbara Brown of Weatherford, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; an aunt, Ethlyn Samaniego; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.In lieu of flowers honorariums can be made to the Gideons International.
