Obituary of Lois Cooke

Lois Cooke, age 80, of Oklahoma City, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Oklahoma City. She was born February 25, 1927 at Idabel, the daughter of Jessie and Bertha Riley Ritchie. She was raised on a farm west of Idabel and married Luke Cooke in Idabel on May 2, 1944. They later moved to Oklahoma City, making their home there for 54 years. Lois was a homemaker. She was a wonderful cook with her specialties being, chocolate pie and fried chicken. Lois was a member of the Southern Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Fern Whiteley; and brothers, Leland Ritchie, and Loren Ritchie. Lois is survived by her husband of 62 years, Luther “Luke” Cooke of Oklahoma City; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Cecil Warner of Oklahoma City; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Jeff and Teresa Warner, and Greg and Marae Warner all of Oklahoma City; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Eula Ritchie of Garvin, and Don and Peggy Ritchie of Oklahoma City; a sister, Jean Klingaman of Mustang; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children.
