Obituary of Mary Ellen Coulter

Mary Ellen Coulter, age 92, longtime McCurtain County resident, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Idabel. She was born January 30, 1916 at the Red Oak Community, the daughter of Samuel James and Matilda Bench Quinton. Mary was a homemaker, and enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, flowers, and aggravating her sons-in-law. Mary was affiliated with the Assemblies of God Church, and had lived most of her life in McCurtain County. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Joyce Scheaffer, Glenda Jones, and Carol Manning; and 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Mary is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Donna Burgess of McAlester, and Henry and Brooke Coulter of Heavener; daughters and sons-in-law, Mildred and Grady Lunsford of Battiest, Mary Lawrence of the Hollycreek Community, Dorothy and Frank Bruce of Garvin, and Donna and Bruce Holmes of Ringold; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
