Obituary of Trannie Turnley

Trannie Lee Turnley, 78, of Idabel passed away Monday February 4, 2008 at her home. She was born May 25, 1929 at Tom, Oklahoma, the daughter of William Hiram and Nettie Lenora Edwards Spillman. She was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County and a faithful member of the Church of God at Idabel. Trannie was a devoted mother and an accomplished homemaker, making a lot of her children’s clothing. She also loved her job as a cook for the Idabel Public Schools. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Effie Mae Wilson, Opal Green, Mattie Hurst; and brother, Melvin R. Spillman. Trannie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Jerry Carter of Las Vegas, NV, Jannis and Thomas Hill of Norman, OK; brothers, Walter E. Spillman of Corpus Christi, TX, Howard Spillman of Pottsboro, TX; sisters, Viola Chadwick of Ashdown, AR, Roma Welch of Gainesboro, TN; grandchildren, Sam Hill and Zachary Hill of Norman, OK and Emily Carter and Kylie Carter of Las Vegas, NV; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2008 at the Conley-White Chapel in Idabel with Rev. Robert Castle officiating. Interment will follow in the Tom Cemetery.
