Obituary of Deanna Lynn Friend

Deanna Lynn Friend, age 45 of Lacrosse, KS passed away peacefully while asleep at her home on Wednesday, January 19, 2011. She was born April 14, 1965 in Aquadilla Puerto Rico to James and Frances Friend. Deanna graduated from Friends University in Wichita, KS with a degree in Psychology. She counseled unwed mothers against having abortions. She was very artistic and was a talented painter. Deanna also loved to go fishing. She was an accomplished flower arranger and several years ago worked at the Idabel Florist and Greenhouse. She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Friend. Deanna is survived by her parents, James and Geneva Friend of the Union Grove Community; daughters, Andrea Bush, Kristen Bush and Loren Bush all of Wichita, KS; brother, Jonathan Friend of the Union Grove Community; sister, Kimberly Parton of Topeka, KS; step-brother, Cary Stringfield and wife, Sarah of Moore, OK; step-sister, Melanie McMillian of the Pleasant Hill Community; paternal grandparents, James and Louise Friend of the Bokhoma Community; former husband and father of her children, Don Bush of Wichita, KS; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Haworth First Assembly of God Church with Bro. Jason Smith officiating. A lunch for the family and friends will be served at the Church following the service.
