Obituary of Lottie Burks

Lottie Burks, 73, of Idabel, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Idabel. She was born January 19, 1934 in Garvin, the daughter of Luther and Beatrice Skelton Baker. She married James Burks on June 7, 1952 in DeQueen, Arkansas. Lottie was a homemaker and had worked for 18 years as a day care worker at the Learning Tree in Idabel. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, going to Wal Mart, and was an avid Cowboy, Sooner, and Tiger Woods fan. Lottie loved vacationing with her sisters and spending time with her family. She was affiliated with the Forest Hill Baptist Church and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Burks in 2005; and a brother, Kenneth Baker in 1970. Lottie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Gail Burks of Broken Bow; a daughter, Kim Burks of the Cisco Community; grandchildren and their spouses, Maura and Billy Green of Idabel, Randa and David Keeley of Greenville, Texas, Ryan Burks of Oklahoma City, Kyle Walls of Idabel, Kirbie and Chris Chester of Baltimore, Maryland; great-grandchildren, Keylan, Keyia, and Kobey Green all of Idabel, McKenna Keeleyof Greenville, Texas, and Sean Chester of Baltimore, Maryland; sisters and brothers-in-law, Imogene Barnard of Oklahoma City, Yvonne and Manuel Ferran of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Wanda and Max Bradley of Del City, Helen and Robert Foglesong of Del City; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joe and Eva Strickland of Garvin; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and her Learning Tree family.
