Obituary of James Chauvin

James “Jim” Chauvin, age 69 passed away Thursday, December 6, 2007 at Paris, Texas. He was born on December 1, 1938 in Houma, Louisiana. He married Janice Edwards on February 22, 1973 in Houma, Louisiana. Jim was retired from the Houma, Louisiana Police Department. He moved to Idabel 23 years ago and began working for the Idabel public Schools first as a Security Officer and later in maintenance. He was very well liked by all the students and faculty and he will be deeply missed. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors and his dog, “Tinker”. Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Lena Martin. Jim leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Janice Chauvin of the home; sons, Roy Billy, and Scott LeCompte both of Idabel; a daughter, Kim Billy of Houston; grandchildren, Quinton, Rachele, and Megan; a brother, Jerry Chauvin of Houma, Louisiana; sisters, Geneve LeDay, and Marie Hodges both of Houma, Louisiana; several other relatives and a host of friends.
