Obituary of Mary Jones

Mary Jones, 93, of the Hollycreek Community passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Broken Bow. She was born March 9, 1914 in Gillham, Arkansas the daughter of John Henry Anderson and Ollie Mae Nichols Anderson. Mary was a homemaker. She enjoyed her flowers, sitting on her porch watching the hummingbirds, and most of all she loved her family. Mary was affiliated with the Baptist Faith and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jodie Jones; daughters, Ida Virgin, and Christeen Baker; sisters, Ozella “Zeck” Johnson, and Belle Fields; brothers, Albert Anderson, Vernon Anderson, and Tommy Anderson. Mary is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Esther Frunk of Broken Bow, Sue and Mike Murphy of Idabel, and Dorotha and I.E. “Snap” Flowers of Oregon; a son Earl Virgin of the Hollycreek Community; a son-in-law, Lee “Sonny” Baker of the Hollycreek Community; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 16, 2007 at the Hollycreek Community Church with Chaplain Bobby C. Ashley “The Preacher Man” officiating. Interment will follow in the Hollycreek Cemetery.
