Obituary of Odis LaVerl Cash

Odis LaVerl Cash, age 89 passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019 at his home in the Goodwater Community, OK. He was born on June 21, 1930 in Gilliland, TX, the son of Odis and Janie V Johnson Cash. 

Odis LaVerl was a flooring installer for many years, working also with the US Forestry Service and most recently with McCurtain County Solid Waste. He enjoyed fishing, western movies and riding his motorcycle. Odis LaVerl was a graduate of Spur High School and thoroughly enjoyed returning to Spur for his reunions. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and he was a faithful member of the Haworth Church of Christ. He had lived in the Goodwater Community since 1990 coming from Lubbock, TX.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dixie Cash; a daughter, Virginia Cash; grandson, Christopher Green; and a brother, Van Cash.

Odis LaVerl is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Ellen Cash of Broken Bow, OK, David Cash of the Goodwater Community, OK and Adam and Jody Cash of Glover, OK; a daughter, Jeanie Hill of the Goodwater Community, OK; a son-in-law, Jackie Burns of the Goodwater Community, OK; grandchildren, Sarah Cash, James Cash, Dalton Cash, Levi Cash, Tommy Cash, Kaylen Cash, Nicole Green, Lakin Cash, Jasmine Burns and Zach Burns; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the Haworth Church of Christ with Marcus Elliott officiating. Interment will follow at the Philadelphia Cemetery.
