Obituary of Roman Luke Cannon

Roman Luke Cannon, age 85  passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019 at his home in Idabel, OK. He was born on April 14, 1934 in Clearlake, FL, the son of John Henry Cannon and Effie Mae Dyal Cannon. 

    Roman was retired from the paper mill at Valliant where he served as Union President for several years. He was a Golden Gloves Champion Boxer growing up in Florida. Roman was a Master Mason and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and had lived in Idabel since 1971.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Suenell Cannon; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

    Roman is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Keith Cannon and Barton Cannon both of Idabel, OK and Brandon and Courtney Cannon of Powderly, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Robert Baker of Glover, OK; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

    Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the White Family Chapel. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at the funeral home.
