Obituary of Quintus Eugene "Gene" John

Quintus Eugene “Gene” John, age 78, passed away March 14, 2019. He was born May 2, 1940 in Idabel, OK., the son of Cornelius John and Betsy Mitchell John. Gene married his wife, Carolyn in Morris, OK on August 9, 1964.

            Gene was very talented mechanic and owned and operated, Gene’s Truck & Auto for many years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and taking care of his yard. Gene was a longtime member of the Kulli Tuklo Methodist Church and was faithful to help take care of its lawn and grounds for many years.

            Gene was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved his family and spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marie Gregg; brothers, Gilbert John, Jerry Nelson John, Anthony “Tony” John and Olen John and also an infant brother and 2 infant sisters.

            Gene leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Carolyn of the home; son, Neal John of Idabel, OK; daughters, Judy John Deere & Ahse, of Morris, OK and Anne-Marie Burrows & Don, of Broken Bow, OK; grandchildren, Ethan Burrows, Jessica John, Jayden John, Megan Aaron, Amy Aaron, Emily Aaron, Joe Burrows, Joel Burrows, Cassidy Bingham and Shelbie Bingham; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Halcomb, Gavin Burrows and Liam Burrows; brothers, Johnny John and Morris John both of Idabel, OK and Aubrey John, of Oklahoma City, OK; a sister, Marilyn Vancil, of Idabel, OK; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the White Family Chapel with Rev. Judy Deere and Kenny Sivard officiating. Interment will follow at the John Family Center.

A wake service will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019 at the funeral home.v
