Obituary of David Rice

David Rice, 63, of Ringold passed away Monday, October 15, 2007 at Oklahoma City. He was born November 14, 1943, the son of Beacher and Dorothy Sims Rice. David worked in the log woods for many years as a log cutter. He was a talented mechanic and would work on just about anything. David enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jackie Rice. David is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Ringold; son and daughter-in-law, David Rice Jr. and Juon Hye-Ryeon of Seoul, Korea; daughters and sons-in-law, Cowetta and John Pozy of Roswell, New Mexico, Evonne Moore of Red Bluff, California, Tracy Cunningham of Millerton, Jennie and Earl Smith of China Grove, North Carolina, Davene Ruffin, Sarah and Matthew Fuller, Gabrielle Rice, and Kendra Rice all of Ringold; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wendol and Judy Rice of Ringold, and Randall and Meryl Rice of Whiteville, Tennessee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Tommy Lemmons of Wright City, and Sharon and Larry Belk of Ringold; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
