Obituary of Rodney J Broades
Rodney Jerome Broades passed away on October 31, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Rodney was born on February 24, 1970, in Greenville, Texas to Charolette “Norvella” Broades and James Earl Hardemon.
Rodney loved all sports, with football and track being his favorite. He attended Idabel High School, where he received numerous awards in football and track, he’s still recognized as one of the greatest quarterbacks from Idabel High School. He graduated in 1988 and received an athletic scholarship to Northeastern Oklahoma.
Rodney was employed as an electrician with Tradesman International, as well as being a full-time student at Tulsa Welding School until his health failed him. Rodney was well respected and loved in his community, friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Norvella Broades, and a sister, Demetrice Broades.
Rodney was survived by his father, James Earl Hardemon of Greenville, Tx; a son, Charlie Broades and wife Jessica of Tulsa, Ok: two daughters, Paige Nolen of Oklahoma City, Ok, and Rodneisha Broades of Bryant, Tx; four grandchildren, Jace Broades, Cherish Broades, Orian Scales, and Oniyah Scales; four sisters, Vetecia Broades and husband Sean O’Dell Adams of Oklahoma City, Ok, Katina Broades of Texarkana, Tx, Rachell Johnson Linley and husband Chad Linley of Commerce, Tx, Lakezia Broades Simpson and husband Melvin Simpson of Oklahoma City, Ok; five brothers, Demarkus Broades of Oklahoma City, Ok, Ottugas Rashad Johnson of Greenville, Tx, Grayson Johnson of Greenville, Tx, Shurrod Broades and wife Nicole of Oklahoma City, Ok, and Rickey Scott of Oklahoma City, Ok; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10th, 2018 at White Family Funeral Home in Idabel, Ok.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Bypass Church of Christ in Idabel, Ok. with Pastor R.V. Webster and Pastor Larry Rutherford presiding.
Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery in Idabel, Ok.
