Obituary of Karen Batson

Karen Batson, age 63 of Idabel, OK passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Idabel. She was born on November 12, 1954 in Greenville, SC, the daughter of Roger and Wilma Sliger Doner. Karen was a 1973 graduate of Broken Bow High School. She married Rick Batson on February 23, 1979 in Broken Bow. 

    Karen was a scrub tech in the Surgery Dept. at McCurtain Memorial Hospital for over 20 years.  She was a loyal and dedicated employee and cherished the many friendships she made over the years there.

    Karen was very involved in the raising of her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and was very supportive of the activities they were involved in.

     She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

    She was  preceded in death by her parents; and her father-in-law, Glen Batson.

    Karen is survived by her husband, Rick Batson of the home; sons, Nick Batson and Chase Batson both of Idabel, OK; grandchildren, Bradyn Batson, Blaze Batson, Ryland Batson all of Idabel, OK and Kayson Griffith and Kylan Batson both of Broken Bow, OK; brothers, Terry Doner and Dwane Doner both of Broken Bow, OK; mother-in-law, Faye Batson of Clarksville, TN; aunts, Karen Kline of Illinois and Helen Youngblood of Sherman, TX; sisters-in-law, Glenda Batson of Broken Bow, OK and Diane Cook of Peoria, IL; brother-in-law, Charles Batson and Jeannie of Ft Towson, OK; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the funeral home.

    Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the White Family Chapel. Interment will follow at the Broken Bow Cemetery.
