Obituary of Doug Jessie

Doug Jessie, age 41 of Broken Bow passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at his residence. He was born on May 12, 1969 in Frederick, OK, the son of Herbert and Lillie Fay Fobb Jessie. Doug was a 1987 graduate of Wickes High School. Until his health failed he worked as a poultry worker at Tyson Foods where he was affectionately known to his coworkers as the “candy man”. Doug was an avid sports fan and he was a big follower of the OU Sooners and the Broken Bow Savages. He also enjoyed helping coach his grandchildren’s softball team. Doug was affiliated with the Goodnews Fellowship Church in Broken Bow and had lived in McCurtain County for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his mother in 2010; his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles. Doug is survived by his loving companion, Gina of Broken Bow; his father, Herbert Jessie of Idabel; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Katie Jessie of St. Louis, MO; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Paul Stephan Jr. of Idabel; step-grandchildren, Adreana, Ashayla and Keliegh; aunts and uncles, Susie Oliver of Wickes, AR, Harry and Ruby Jessie, Rosabell Hicks, Hickman Fobb Jr. and Ernest Fobb all of Frederick, OK; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at the White Family Chapel with Bro. Doug Deramus officiating. Interment will follow at Kulli Tuklo Cemetery in Idabel. A wake service will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the funeral home.
