Obituary of Jernesse Martin

Jernesse (Nesse) Toulyne Martin transitioned to her heavenly home on March 9, 2018 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She was born August 31, 1973 to Glenda Fields and Jeriamah Fuller in Pasadena, California, the City of Roses. The family moved to Marrero, Louisiana in 1983. Jernesse attended and graduated from John Ehret High School on the West bank of New Orleans. Later in life she met and married Mr. Dannon Harris.

          Jernesse loved to make jokes, laugh, dance, listen to music, and spend time with all of her family and friends. After relocating to Idabel, she worked at Movie Gallery, Nutritional Center, Pruitt’s, and KFC, where she met a lot of good friends. She was baptized by Rev. A.W. Gulley and was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.

          She leaves to mourn her sweet memories: mother, Glenda Poché and Dannon Harris; 6 brothers:, Damon Richard (Sumicko), Dominick Poché, Michael Poché, Darron Mormon, Jermey Fuller, and Josh Fuller; 5 sisters, LaShonda Benoit (David), Kerwanda Poché, Felicia Fuller, Amanda Fuller, and Beatrice Fuller; 4 aunts, Ernestine Fields (Donald), Janice Fields, Darnisha Fields, and Lois Fuller; 3 uncles, Darron Jackson (Jenean) , Sedrick Fields (LaVonda), and Loniel Fuller, 3 step-children, Jarvis Dyson, Ecoveya Dyson, and Anthony Dyson; 2 God-children, Kia Bailey and Jeffrey Carter; 13 nieces, Kirshonda Galloway, Shelbie Jennings, Daysia Benoit, Destiny Benoit, Darnisha Richard, Kirsten Fields, Aaliyah Steele, LaKeya Poché, D’Zina Richard, Anija Poché, Tiasia Provest and Montreile Provest; 5 nephews, Damon Richard, Jr., Cornell Harris, Calvin Harris, Joesph Harris, and Perry Davis; two grandchildren, Kobe D. Robbins, and Erianna T. Robbins, 6 great-nephews, 3 great-nieces, mother-in-law, Carolyn Harris, 3 sisters-in-law, Shawanda Harris, Michele Provest, and Taisia (Tiddie) Harris; and a host of friends, family, and loved ones.

          Jernesse was preceded in death by her father, Jeriah Fuller; grandmother, Lillie Fields; and step-father, Kermath Poché.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at  Spring Hill Baptist Church with Rev. A.W. Gulley officiating. Interment will follow at the Williamston Cemetery.
