Obituary of Leonard McDaniel

Leonard McDaniel, age 87, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Paris, TX. He was born in a covered wagon near Bonham, TX on August 27, 1930, the son of John and Mattie Martin McDaniel.

            Leonard was a longtime rancher and auctioneer. Starting out at a young age and with limited education, he learned the cattle business and built a successful cattle operation. His ability to add and keep track of numbers in his head is legendary. He was a member of the By Pass Church of Christ and had lived in McCurtain County all of his life.

            Leonard loved his family very much and he was extremely proud of their many accomplishments. He leaves a legacy of hard work, determination and a never give up attitude.

            He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Helen McDaniel; brothers, Troy McDaniel and Carl McDaniel; and sister, Birdie Harger.

            Leonard is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis and Debbie McDaniel of Smithville, Kent and Vivian McDaniel, Russell and Robin McDaniel, Roger and Randee McDaniel, all of Idabel, and Mark and Shellye McDaniel of DeKalb, TX; grandchildren, Christie and Cory Spieker, Carie and Danny Palmer, Cody and Melissa McDaniel, Doug and Jaime McDaniel, Brent and Kayla McDaniel, Bo McDaniel, Redeana and Eddie Barcus, Racheal and Glen Williamson, Reesha and Nick Alvarez, Renea and Jeremy Kallaby, Rance McDaniel, Cameron McDaniel, Kaylee and Daniel Terracina, Tyler McDaniel, Zachary McDaniel, Sydnee McDaniel, Jason Bean, Joshua Bean, Jeremy and Patricia Chapmon, Shelby Tamplin Mchiti; 46 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence McDaniel and LaJuan of Hugo, OK, and Hubert McDaniel of Idabel, OK; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geraldine Hill and Vince of Eagletown, OK, Joyce Holt and Sonny of Denison, TX, and Ola Mae McDaniel of Eagletown, OK; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wayne Clardy of Idabel, OK, Christine Hughes of Texarkana, TX, JoAnn Conley of Idabel, OK and Bobbye Jean Jacobs of Belton, TX; many nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and many friends.
