Obituary of Ollice Murray
Ollice “O.J.” Murray, 94, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017 at his home in Muleshoe, Texas. Ollice was born in McCurtain County, Oklahoma on September 27, 1923 to Walter & Nettie (Cox) Murray.
Ollice was a humble man of honor, integrity, and loyalty. His word was his bond, and he fulfilled every obligation he ever undertook. After serving in the U. S. Army in WWII as a half-track driver he was honored with the EAME Theater Ribbon, four (4) Bronze Service Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Ribbon, none of which he ever shared with friends or family.
In 1949, Ollice began a long career with Diamond Shamrock. He worked with them for 33 years until his retirement in 1982. Ollice loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, but nothing made him happier than a long day of fishing.
Ollice is preceded in death by his loving wife, Willie Mae (Farley) Murray, and is survived by three children; his son Joel and his wife Connie Murray of Oalthe, Kansas; son Ronnie and his wife Nita Lou of Windom, TX; daughter Deb and her husband Jack Stone of Muleshoe, TX; 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Ollice’s family would like to thank Parkview Nursing Care Center in Muleshoe, TX and Kindred Hospice for the wonderful care he received during his final days. Words are not enough to express our gratitude for your love and care.
