Obituary of Vernon Ray Johnson

Vernon Ray Johnson, age 68 of Idabel passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Tulsa, OK. He was born on July 1, 1942 in Idabel, OK. Vernon Ray was a welder and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was affiliated with the Kulli Tuklo Methodist Church and was a lifetime resident of the Idabel area. He was preceded in death by his mother, Estherbell Johnson Belvin; and a brother, Arthur Peters. Vernon Ray is survived by his daughter, Paula Johnson of Heavener; step-daughters, Frances Jean Bowden of Choctaw, OK and Caroline Bierman of Moore, OK; step-sons, Charles Weekes, Art Garcia, Patrick Garcia and Michael Garcia all of Oklahoma City; brothers, Sammy Jo Belvin and Anthony Belvin; a sister, Carolyn McGuire; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2010 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel with Rev. Rosa Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Denison Cemetery. A wake service will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the funeral home.
