Obituary of Jerry W. Sullivan

Jerry Sullivan, age 70 of Idabel passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at his residence. He was born on February 8, 1940 in Haworth, OK, the son of Russel and Jewel Lawler Sullivan. Jerry was a 1959 graduate of Haworth High School. He and his wife Effie were married on May 15, 1998 in Haworth. Jerry spent his adult life following pipeline construction. He was a heavy equipment operator and worked in several countries around the world. Jerry worked several years in Michigan where he was an officer in Local 324 International Union of Operating Engineers. Jerry had the personality that allowed him to never meet a stranger. He would start up a conversation with anyone. Jerry enjoyed going to the Idabel Nutrition Center because he could visit with friends and make new friends. He will be missed but never forgotten by his family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his oldest brother, Russel Sullivan Jr. Jerry is survived by his wife, Effie Sullivan of the home; his children, Rodney, Angie and Danny; step-children, Rhonda, Danny and Kenneth; 10 grandchildren; two of his grandsons, Cody and Kason lived with him and Effie and they were very special to him; a special nephew, Eddie Phillip Sullivan who he treated like a son; brothers and sisters-in-law that will miss him and his good natured way of looking at life, Ray Sullivan of Eagletown, Dale and Lois Sullivan and Eddie and Jo Carolyn Sullivan all of Haworth, Donnie and Sharon Sullivan of Idabel; uncle, Raymond Lawler of Haworth; and aunt, Wanda Williams of Eagletown; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel with Bro. Trent Stuart officiating. Interment will follow at Denison Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the funeral home.
