Obituary of Kermit Ferguson

Kermit Dial Ferguson, 74, life-long resident of McCurtain County, born June 23, 1933 in Riverview, Bowie County, Texas went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the Broken Bow Nursing Home. He grew up around the Valliant - Wright City area and lived in Wright City 61 years. A longtime member and honorary deacon of the Assembly of God Church in Wright City, his life centered on his Savior and socializing and supporting family and friends with inspiration and humor. Kermit had a passion for music, family, church and learning. He enjoyed being around animals, particularly horses, mules, goats and dogs. He also had a fondness for building birdhouses, working on lawnmowers and all things mechanical. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dial Kermit and Johnnie Norene Coffman Ferguson; brothers, Justin Theodore (J.T.) and John Alton (Buddy). Kermit is survived by a very loving family that includes his sisters and brothers-in-law, Emma Lou and Lester Wilson of Clarksville, Texas, Diane and Clarence Roberts of Wright City, Jean and Roy Hannah of Oolagah, Lela and John Campbell of Ft. Towson, Shelia Sellers of Hugo, and Charlet and Roger Hutchings of Paris, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug and Phyllis Ferguson of Wright City and Larry and Mattie Ferguson of Wright City; along with numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and many, many friends.
