Obituary of Mary LaVerne Pond

Mary LaVerne “White” Pond, age 83, lifetime resident of McCurtain County, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Broken Bow. She was born September 18, 1927 in Eagletown, OK, the daughter of Noodie and Martha Wilson White. Mary LaVerne was a homemaker. She was affiliated with the Pentecostal Faith and enjoyed sewing, needlework, fishing and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Walter Pond; a daughter, Mary Hoover; a son, Earl Pond; sons-in-law, Albert Lovewell and Raymond Hoover; 5 granddaughters 5 grandsons and a great-grandson. Mary LaVerne is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Tincy Lovewell and Clyde of Tom, OK, Martha Pond Braddock and Jerry of Cookville, TX, and Sissy Lovewell of Foreman, AR; sons and daughters-in-law, J.W. Pond and Janet of Dierks, AR, Robert Pond of Tom, OK, Paul Pond and Sherry of Seagoville, TX, Walter Pond of Klute, TX, James Pond of San Francisco, CA, and Mark Pond and Gwen of Broken Bow; a daughter-in-law, Pat Pond of Horatio, AR; a brother, Edwin McDonald of Clayton, OK; 27 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel. Interment will follow at Gravelly Cemetery in Foreman, AR.
