Obituary of Lillie Fay Jessie

Lillie Jessie age 67, of Haworth, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Texarkana. She was born March 31, 1943 in Eagletown, OK the daughter of Hickman Fobb Sr. and Serena Battiest Fobb. Lillie married Herbert Jessie on December 3, 1962 in Frederick, OK. She worked as a seamstress for many years at Frybrant in Frederick, OK and at Kellwoods in Idabel, OK. Her husband was in the U.S. Army and he retired in 1989 and they moved back to the Idabel area. Lillie was a very active member of the Kulli Tuklo Methodist Church. She was a Lay Leader with the Oklahoma Indian United Methodist Church. Lillie was a member of the Choctaw Language Dictionary Committee and also taught the Choctaw Language. She enjoyed watching westerns, soap operas, Christian broadcast programs and attending gospel singings. Lillie was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching basketball, softball and was a follower of the Haworth Lions. Lillie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Josephine Wade, Mary Billy, Vivian Nichols and Lucille Fobb; and a brother, Houston Fobb. Lillie is survived by her husband, Herbert Jessie of Haworth; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Paul Stephan Jr. of Idabel; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Katie Jessie of St. Louis, MO and Douglas and Regina Jessie of Broken Bow; brothers, Hickman Fobb Jr. and Ernest Fobb both of Frederick, OK; a sister, Rosabell Hicks of Frederick, OK; 6 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2010 at the Orr Gish Funeral Chapel in Frederick, OK. Interment will follow in the Frederick Cemetery. A wake service will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK.
