Obituary of Melba Wray

Melba Wray, age 73 of the Forest Grove Community, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at her residence. She was born February 27, 1937 in Camden, Arkansas, the daughter of E.B. and Carrie Walker. Melba grew up in Camden, Arkansas and graduated Fairview High School. She married Robert Mac Wray on August 14, 1954. Moving to the area in 1971, she and her husband made their home in Idabel. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church and was very active, serving in numerous church positions and committees. Her greatest attribute was her love for people. She was able to see the good in everyone. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Faye Roberts and brother, Joe Walker. Melba is survived by her husband, Robert Mac Wray of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Becky and Danny Coursey of Idabel and Toni Wray of Idabel; sisters, Ernestine Jordan of Waldron, AR and Betty Biggers of Camden, AR; brother, James Walker of Prescott, AR; grandchildren, Shea Coursey and wife, Becky of Idabel, Diane Dempsey and husband, Eddy of Valliant and Mya McBrayer of Idabel; 6 great-grandchildren, Tra and Brawley Dempsey, Bradley, Lauren, Caden and Crew Coursey; a myriad of nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Idabel with Bro. Shawn Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in the Forest Grove Community. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 20, 2010 at the funeral home.
