Obituary of Cathy Milam

Cathy Milam, age 74 passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at her residence in Idabel. She was born May 29, 1936 in Valliant, the daughter of Howard and Mary Scoggins McCurry. Cathy was a 1954 graduate of Valliant High School. Cathy was employed at McCurtain Memorial Hospital for over 30 years. She went to work in the Business office of the hospital in 1983. Cathy also worked as a radio commentator and reporter for both KBEL and KKBI for several years. She loved beautiful flowers and enjoyed working in her flower bed. Cathy was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Stacie Milam; brothers, Harvey McCurry, Wilburn McCurry and Tom McCurry; and a sister, Nadine McCurry. Cathy is survived by her husband, Jr. Milam of Idabel; daughters, Terri Sue Holderman and Carolyn Ann Tomlinson both of Idabel; a sister, Juanita Keeling of Oklahoma City; grandsons, Cody Holderman of Idabel, Jason Tomlinson of Garvin and Stevie Steel of Broken Bow; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 9, 2010 at the Forest Hill Cemetery in the Forest Grove Community with Rev. Elwayne Schaeffer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the funeral home.
