Obituary of Marie Reid

Marie Reid, age 87 passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at her home in Broken Bow, OK. She was born on April 13, 1932 in Allene, AR, the daughter of Robert Arthur Smart and Ider May Ward Smart. Marie married David Reid  in DeQueen, AR on September 8, 1951.

    Marie was a CNA for many years at the Kaiser Hospital in San Diego, CA. She was a dog lover and always had several she was taking care of. An avid genealogist, she discovered she was a distant cousin to Princess Diana. Marie was a member of the Oak Hill Assembly of God Church and had made her home back in Broken Bow since 1991 coming back from San Diego, CA.
 
    She was  preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Joanna Moore; and several brothers and sisters.

    Marie  is survived by her husband, David Reid of Broken Bow, OK; a daughter, Laura Thompson of Broken Bow, OK; a son, David V Reid of Broken Bow, OK; grandchildren, Cody Moore, Brenda Longnecker, Suzanne Roeder, Thomas Smith, Richard Ballinger, Michelle Ballinger, Crystal Eade and Melissa Deen; great-grandchildren who lived with her, Adia Reid and DJ Robinson; numerous other great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 8, 2019 at the Oak Hill Assembly of God Church.

    Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 9, 2018 at the Oak Hill Assembly of God Church with Bro Jon Hollinghead and Bro Neil Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at the  Crown Hill Cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the ARK.
