Obituary of Helen Williston

Helen Williston, age 93, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at her home in Idabel, OK surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 10, 1925 in Idabel, OK.

    Helen was a longtime nurse's aide at McCurtain Memorial Hospital, she began working there in 1966 and spent 38 years as a faithful caregiver to her patients before retiring. She enjoyed taking care of her yard and spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. Helen was a member of the Living Land Methodist Church, she loved reading her bible, saying her daily prayers and singing Choctaw Hymns.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Wilton Wayne Williston, Jimmie Carroll Williston, William Larson "BooBoo Williston and, Bobby Joe "BJ" Williston; a grandson, Jimmie Carroll Williston Jr.; and a daughter-in-law, LaGena Williston.

    Helen is survived by her children, Wanda Kay Howard, Thomas Rhea Williston and Terry Lynn Williston and Kittie all of Idabel, OK; grandchildren, Jeremy Justin "JJ" Williston, Sunny Lorraine Williston, Melissa Leanna McClatchy, Vanessa Renee Parnell, Amy Michelle Ward, Eric Wayne Williston, Matthew Keith Williston, Kyzer Williston, Chacen Williston, Ashley Breshears and Teyler Williston; 22 great-grandchildren and one on the way; 8 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the White Family Chapel. Interment will follow at the Canfield Cemetery.

    A wake service will be held from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the funeral home.
