Obituary of LaGena L Williston

LaGena Williston, age 53, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Paris, TX. She was born on April 24, 1965 in DeQueen, AR.


    LaGena enjoyed her childhood years growing up in the Shinewell Community, OK. She was a 1983 graduate of Broken Bow High School and spent her early adult years in the Broken Bow area. Her first job was at Sonic and raised two children as a single mother all the time working toward her Associate's Degree and later her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. LaGena worked as a McCurtain County Sheriff's dispatcher then County Deputy. She later became a Probation and Parole Officer from which she retired to become a full time homemaker.

    LaGena enjoyed her gardening, growing herbs, making her own arthritis medication and canning pickles which everyone loved. She was an avid outdoors person and loved fishing and camping. LaGena also enjoyed the Choctaw festival's, watching stick ball, ghost stories and crime shows on television.

    LaGena was a devoted wife, daughter, sister and grandmother. She loved buying gifts for her grandchildren at Christmas and on their Birthday's and watching them play out in the yard.

    She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Elizabeth and Johnnie Meredith; and her paternal grandparents, Francis and Gene Endicott.

    LaGena is survived by her husband, Thomas WIlliston of Idabel, OK; mother, Lorene Meredith-Gardner of Cleveland, TX; father, Gene Endicott of Idabel, OK; daughter, Tera Routh of Garvin, OK; sons, Trey Routh of Broken Bow, OK, Kyzer Williston and Ashlen of Idabel, OK and Chasen Williston and Mahra of Idabel, OK; grandchildren, Zayne, MacKenzie, Amelia, Rylee, Jacen and one on the way; a brother, Robert Endicott of Huntsville, TX; a sister, Ramona Gardner of Cleveland, TX; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Wanda Howard, Marilynn Elliott, Terry Williston and Kitty all of Idabel and Silas Parker and Jeri of California; her beloved dog, Pinti; 75 nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the White Family Chapel with Rev. Rosa Baker officiating. Interment will follow at the Canfield Cemetery.

    A wake service will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the funeral home.
