Obituary of Mary Lou Nichols

Mary Lou Nichols, age 91 passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at her home in the Shinwell Community, OK. She was born on July 17, 1927 in Apperson, OK, the daughter of Pete and Zona Holt Carter.

Mary Lou was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary Lou was a member of the Lynn Lane Church of Christ and was a lifetime resident of the area.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack Nichols; daughter, Shirley Hicks; and her brother, Murray Carter. 

Mary Lou is survived by her sons, Larry Nichols and Rita of the Shinewell Community, OK and Nickey Nichols and Sandy of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Dustin Hicks, Christie Jordan, James Nichols, Nicole Byrom and Ashley Dominguez; sisters, Thelma Caplinger of Dallas, TX and Martha Hullen of Heber Springs, AR; 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Lynn Lane Church of Christ with Virgil Romine officiating. Interment will follow at the Philadelphia Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the funeral home.
