Obituary of Lewis H Timbes
Lewis H Timbes Jr., age 69, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Plano, TX. He was born on September 26, 1949 in Weatherford, TX, the son of Lewis H Timbes Sr. and LaVerne Jackson Timbes. Lewis grew up in Golden, OK and attended early school there. He was a 1968 graduate of Broken Bow High School.
Lewis was a talented finish carpenter and helped complete many local projects over the years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking care of his cattle and spending time with and talking to family and friends. Lewis was a member of the Broken Bow Church of Christ and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County.
Lewis was a caring and devoted husband, father and was a friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Marion Phillips; sisters-in-law, Debbie Whitten and Delight Eidson; brother-in-law, Nathan "Nat" Hefner; and his longtime friend and hunting buddy, Wilburn Stevenson.
Lewis is survived by his wife, Darlene Timbes of Broken Bow, OK; his daughter, Lindsey Timbes of Broken Bow, OK; brothers-in-law, Walter Hefner and Tracy of Foreman, AR and TJ Eidson of Idabel, OK; a sister-in-law, Charmyrle Burns and Wendell of Hot Springs, AR; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Watson Memorial Cemetery in the Oak Hill Community, OK with Nathan Diller.
