Obituary of Susan Ann Barnes

          Susan Ann Barnes, age 70, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at her home in Idabel, OK. She was born on April 1, 1948 in Texarkana, TX, the daughter of Raymond and Marie Powers. She was a 1966 graduate of Idabel Gray High School.  

 

          Susan was a homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of and rehabilitating wild animals and did some work for the Oklahoma Dept. of Wildlife. Susan was also an experienced dog trainer. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County.

 

          She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Barnes; and nephews, Michael Bryan and Mikey Miller.

 

          Susan is survived by her sisters, Judy Phillips and Matt of Garvin, OK and Shirley Miller of Sulphur Springs, TX; a half-brother, Max Powers and wife Barbara of Sulphur Springs, TX; nieces and nephews, Stephanie Winchester, Jake Phillips, Nikki Miller, Katelynn Phillips, and Miracle Ramon; great-nieces and nephews, Alix Bryan, Michaela Bryan, Wessa Miller, Koltain Winchester, Emily Phillips, Ryder Miller and Madison Phillips; and she was NawNaw to Aiden Barnes and Acelie Bray; several other relatives and many friends. 

 

           The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the funeral home.

 

          Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Denison Cemetery.
