Obituary of Chris Johnson

Chris Johnson, age 47 passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Idabel, OK. He was born on June 4, 1970 in Waynesboro, MS, the son of Wayne and Mamie Johnson.

Chris owned and operated several successful small businesses in the healthcare industry. He loved to play golf with his friends and was an active member of the Idabel Country Club where he currently was serving as board president. A good athlete when he was younger, he enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and the NY Yankees.

Chris was caring, generous and had a huge heart. He loved helping people. Chris was a member of the Waynesboro Calvary Baptist Church and had lived in Idabel for over 8 years coming from Mississippi.   

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jay Johnson.

Chris is survived by his parents, Wayne and Mamie Johnson of Waynesboro, MS; daughter, Aubrey Johnson Idabel, OK,; a son, Jonah Johnson of Idabel, OK; sisters, Wendy Johnson and Dean Garrett of Hattiesburg, MS and Lori and Smokie Thorp of Midland, TX; the mother of his children, Kimber Johnson of Hattiesburg, MS; nieces, Ashley Stoker, Calli Tinley, Taylor McCoy, Morgan Cherry; a nephew, Christopher Johnson; great-nephews, Leo Michael Delaney, Mayer Tinley and Mack Tinley; several other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Idabel Country Club.
